Guía acogerá este domingo, 27 de septiembre, la celebración el Día Mundial del Turismo en el Norte de Gran Canaria 2026

La jornada reunirá a los once municipios de la Mancomunidad del Norte en torno a la transformación digital del sector y para mostrar las riquezas turísticas, culturales y patrimoniales del Norte de Gran Canaria Guía celebra este próximo domingo el Día Mundial del Turismo 2026, donde se reunirán  los once municipios de la Mancomunidad del Norte para mostrar las riquezas turísticas, culturales y patromoniales del norte. Durante el evento, se hará entrega de los Premios de Reconocimiento del Turismo del Norte de Gran Canaria 2026, por los que recibirá distinción en la categoría de ocio el club guiense Club Deportivo Montaña Vergara. Los visitantes también podrán disfrutar de varias actividades preparadas por la Concejalía de Turismo que dirige Alejandra García Díaz, como catas de queso y de miel, talleres infantiles en torno al mundo de la apicultura ofrecidos por el Aula de la Naturaleza de Verdejo, y una yincana digital en formato competición, que invita a conocer el casco histórico de Guía de una manera lúdica a través de los dispositivos móviles. En la feria, también tendrán presencia, además de la Oficina de Turismo, el Aula de la Naturaleza de Verdejo, la Casa del Queso y el Cenobio de Valerón. El programa de actividades se complementará con otras actividades propuestas por los espacios turísticos del municipio. El mismo domingo 27, el Cenobio de Valerón ofrece una visita guiada gratuita a las 11:00 horas y jornada de puertas abiertas durante todo el horario de apertura (de 10:00 a 18:00 horas). Previo al Día Mundial del Turismo, el sábado 26, a las 10:00 horas, la Oficina de Turismo ofrece una visita guiada por el casco histórico y el Museo Néstor Álamo con reserva previa en la web www.turismo.santamariadeguia.es. La Casa del Queso se sumará también a las propuestas para el sábado 3 de octubre con dos talleres de elaboración de queso. El presidente accidental de la Mancomunidad del Norte de Gran Canaria y alcalde de Guía, Alfredo Gonçalves Ferreira, agradeció «la implicación de las administraciones y de los trabajadores municipales en la organización de esta celebración y destacó la oportunidad que supone para el municipio acoger el acto central». Gonçalves puso en valor la necesidad de dar a conocer las riquezas de Gran Canaria «y, especialmente, de Guía de Gran Canaria, tanto a los visitantes como al conjunto de la sociedad», y animó a participar en una jornada concebida para mostrar los atractivos del Norte. Desde la Mancomunidad, y en colaboración con las concejalías de Turismo de sus once municipios, se ha diseñado un programa que busca acercar a visitantes locales y extranjeros la diversidad de recursos de la comarca. Desde 2016, el Día Mundial del Turismo en el Norte de Gran Canaria se celebra cada año en un municipio diferente. Esta edición llega a Guía, consolidando una iniciativa que busca poner en valor la actividad turística de la comarca y el trabajo que desarrollan empresas y profesionales del sector. En esta edición, serán galardonadas las siguientes empresas y entidades de los once municipios de la Mancomunidad del Norte: Alojamiento: Moya: Casa Emblemática La Alameda. Agaete: Hotel Puerto de las Nieves. Restauración: Tejeda: Bar Restaurante El Cairete. Valleseco: Restaurante Los Rubios. Ocio: Arucas: Heineken 5mentarios. Santa María de Guía: Club Deportivo Montaña Vergara. Innovación: Artenara: Jaramago. Firgas: Destilería Peligroso Pérez. Gáldar: Turiscan. Sostenibilidad: Teror: La Tienda de Benjamín. La Aldea de San Nicolás: Api Turismo ‘El mundo apasionante de las abejas’. Estos reconocimientos ponen en valor la trayectoria y el trabajo de empresas y entidades que contribuyen al desarrollo turístico de sus municipios y del conjunto del Norte de Gran Canaria.
